ADAPTIVE SCUBA DIVING

Buy

Adaptive scuba  diving is known as the set of underwater activities, in free diving or with autonomous equipment, performed by people with disabilities. The special needs of these athletes require a series of adaptations, both in the equipment used and in the technique, logistics or in the choice of instructors, which allows these people to practice diving in the same safety conditions as those who do not have any type of disability.

Adaptive  diving applied to people with disabilities is very beneficial for the body. In addition to the benefits of practicing physical activity, diving is even more pleasurable due to the mild gravity provided by immersion in water, which ensures low impact on different parts of the body, minimizing tension in bones and joints.

In addition to physical well-being, experiencing diving provides very satisfactory psychological effects. The feeling of independence and freedom offered by the absence of underwater gravity increases the development of a positive and optimistic attitude.

This sport strengthens teamwork, respect for nature and the collective perception of care for oneself and diving partners.

Some benefits of Adapted Diving:

  • Works all muscles
  • Burns calories
  • Improves cardiovascular and respiratory health
  • You will feel "at peace"
  • It is a team sport and integrator
  • You will be in contact with nature

The general requirements for the practice of adapted diving are:

  • Know how to swim and be able to swim at least 100 m. regardless of style.
  • Has no general medical contraindication.
  • Make a medical evaluation that authorizes the practice of the sport.

About the destiny

The program is set up according to each person and destination where the activity is carried out. Generally, baptism diving is the first experience and contact with the underwater world, where first an introduction and a theoretical lecture of about 30 minutes is made, where basic diving rules, communication signals, all equipment and recommendations are presented.

In Brazil, there are several places where adaptive diving can be practiced with highly trained professionals and in incredible and unique places, such as Fernando de Noronha, Bonito or Arraial do Cabo, among other destinations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to take a course?

No. For baptism, it is not necessary to take an adapted diving course. You simply need to know how to swim and, depending on the location or type of dive you want to do, have medical authorization.

Do I need to have any equipment?

It is not necessary to have any type of equipment; we recommend a waterproof camera for memories.

It's safe?

Although it is a sport practiced underwater, diving has equipment and several safety techniques that eliminate virtually all possible risks.
