Bonito, in Mato Grosso do Sul, is one of the main destinations for ecotourism and adventure tourism in Brazil. The name of the place lives up to its name. A true paradise with rivers of crystal-clear water and the colors of the fish that contrast with the intense green of the native forest. Located in the Serra da Bodoquena, the city is 300 km away from the capital Campo Grande and has good access roads.
In Bonito, attractions such as the Lago Azul and Mimoso Caves, the Natural Aquarium and the Sucuri River stand out for their beauty and provide contact with nature and tranquility. Rafting, floating in small natural lakes, hiking trails and diving are some of the numerous leisure options.
The Anhumas Abyss, a cave located 23 km away, is another attraction. For certified divers, the abyss reserves the right to go 18 meters more. Scuba diving reveals new images, luminosity and the full range of one of the most sensational caves on our planet.
The local fauna, rich and expressive, is composed of innumerable species of birds, such as harpy, king vulture, macaws, toucans, curassows, and other animals. Fish are, of course, an important part of gastronomy. Pacu, pintado and dorado are the most popular and served with stews, fried or grilled, accompanied by a delicious banana flour.
