• ¿When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?

Rio de Janeiro is a city that can be visited all year. Unlike other regions of Brazil, it does not have excessively rainy seasons.

The months of December to April are the hottest months and where the greatest amount of rainfall is recorded. At this time, Rio de Janeiro dresses on vacation to receive its unique events such as the new year or the carnival. From the end of March until July we have the most pleasant temperatures, and the quietest places with which it is one of the best times to visit the city. The months of July, August, September are a few months where we continue with a warm and pleasant temperature, especially for cultural visits, knowing other facets of the city and enjoying a beach with fewer people and quieter.

• Is there and accesible beach?

Yes, during the months of December and January there is the proyect Beach for all - Praia para todos. The project works on weekends between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM and has volunteers, amphibious chairs and everything needed to enjoy the beach. Access is free.

• Is Rio de Janeiro a fully accesible destination?

The city has some adapted attractions and designed tours so that people with disabilities can enjoy it. Some examples are the project beach for all that although it does not work all year round, provide accessibility for people who want to enjoy the beach and the sea with accessibility and comfort. Another example is the adapted trails in the Tijuca forest as well as museums and the main touristics points of the city.

Mots of the city sidewalks are made of small cobblestones that, although wheelchair users can go through it, is not the most comfortable, also, they are not flat in several cases and with defective ramps. For people with visual impairment, the city does not have adapted traffic lights and adapted paths are not throughout the city.

In any case, that does not prevent people with disabilities from taking advantage of, enjoying and knowing this wonderful city since we indicate the best ways to move within the city with autonomy and safety.
