A feeling of immensity, of infinity invades us as we navigate the waters of Lake Titicaca in Puno. It is so big that it feels like being at sea, with islands that have kept their customs and traditions intact for hundreds of years.
The tour around the lake includes a visit to the islands of the Uros, built entirely of totora (reeds); the island Taquile, land where the weavers caught the attention of humanity; and Amantaní Island, an invitation to rest and isolate yourself from everything.
Here, the sunrises and sunsets are indescribable, not to mention the nights, when the stars seem to be so close together, that you feel like touching them. The islands of Titicaca are a magical invitation.
