The City of Mendoza is the wine capital of Argentina and one of the main reference points of wine tourism in the world. The province has 70 percent of the country's wine production, and the landscape of the vines at the foot of the Andes Mountains, its award-winning wines throughout the world and a first class cuisine make it a perfect destination for Wine lovers and gastronomic tourism.

The city of Mendoza, is one of the most important urban centers in Argentina where prominent personalities have passed not only from the local sphere, but stars from the world, in love with the great tourist offer that Mendoza has.

Mendoza is characterized by the neatness of its wide avenues and the peculiarity of their sidewalks with  small channels to organize water irrigation. Extreme care is perceived at all times for the environment, not only for the care of water, but also for the cleaning of its streets, which is a reason for pride of Mendoza citizens.

In Mendoza, the Wine Routes are divided into four regions that respond to four wine oases: North, East, Uco Valley and South.

In the North, at a close distance from the capital, is the First Zone. Formed by the departments Guaymallén, Godoy Cruz, Maipú and Luján de Cuyo, it concentrates a large number of wineries of all kinds. It is the most traditional area, in which Maipú - an oasis of vineyards and olive groves - is the cradle of wine because here the first vines of the country were found.

The East has the largest area of vineyards in the country and a few years ago it has converted its grapes and wineries to produce high quality wines. Here the white strains stand out, which provide fresh and fruity wines.

In recent years, the Uco Valley became the star of Argentine wine. With a daily thermal amplitude of 15 ° and terroirs at the foot of the Cordillera de los Andes, high-quality wines of remarkable quality are achieved.

Finally, the South zone, with San Rafael in the lead, in addition to being a brand of Adventure Tourism, presents important wineries, of great tradition in the wine industry. Bonarda, among the reds, and Chardonnay, for the white ones, are the most prominent strains.
